I love, love, love Buxton Peak The Complete Collection! I discovered the Buxton Peak series a couple of weeks ago. Since then I have read all the individual books and then read them again because I just couldn't get enough. The complete collection put all the stories together seamlessly. The central character, Ian Taylor, was born a musical prodigy. He's defined by his love for music and performance, his love for God, his intense loyalty to his friends, his passionate, artistic nature, his innate leadership ability, and his magnetic personality. The collection follows Ian and his inner circle as they navigate life and find love despite their fish bowl existence and the oceans of temptation presented by the enormous success of their hard rock band, Buxton Peak.This story rings true on many levels. I highly recommend this extraordinary book!

I loved all the books and this has extra content! Loved seeing into Ian's head with the new journal entries. I love how everything is all together in one book! If you are a Buxton Peak fan, then this will complete your collection. I never mentioned, but I LOVE all the covers. Let's rock!

I really appreciate how Julie covers the real challenges youth face in a clean way. Ian is a great character. The rock and roll talent manages to make good decisions and keep the readers entertained. :) A great escape!

I really adore Ian Taylor. I've enjoyed this series and the added journal entries gave it a new level. This is a great series dealing with tough issues. It's done thoughtfully, and written beautifully. Julie Spencer is an excellent storyteller.

I loved all the Buxton Peak books and kept wanting more! This is the more I wanted! It was all the stories together but with Ian’s tweets and journal entries, more from different perspectives and more on some side characters that could definitely have their own story. This can be read as a stand alone but I loved reading it after the series just to keep the story going for me.

After reading Billionaire Rock Star Romance: Buxton Peak Book One I could not wait to read more about Ian Taylor and the rest of Buxon Peak. I loved having all the stories in order and in one place. It made it much easier to read all night as this book is hard to put down. I cant wait to see what is ahead for this awesome band!

I absolutely LOVE Julie's books and this boxed set was a great way to have the Buxton Peak stories all together. Funnything though is that I purchased the Kindle version AND the paperback version, so if my Kindle ever has an issue, I can still re-read them when/if I choose. Keep.the books coming.

About the Author

Jocelyn Dan Wurzburg grew up in Memphis going to Vollentine, Snowden, Central, then Rhodes College where she received her B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology; J.D. from University of Memphis. A fifth generation Memphian, married with three children, she thought her life was set - until the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King in 1968 shattered her belief system. That was a transformative event that raised her consciousness to racism and its role in society. She founded the local Panel of American Women that year to address prejudice and celebrate differences. She started the Concerned Women of Memphis and Shelby County, credited with averting a second sanitation workers' strike a year after Dr. King's death. Jocelyn jumped into civil rights, women's rights, and social justice activities serving on the Social Action Commission of Reform Judaism. President Gerald Ford appointed her to the International Women's Year Commission, and she served Governor Winfield Dunn on the Tennessee Human Rights Commission, where she wrote Tennessee's first anti-discrimination law in employment, public accommodations, and housing. At age 35, Jocie went to law school hoping to be more effective in her "causes." After four divorce trials, she pursued mediation as a saner process, becoming Memphis' first professional mediator. She founded the Mediation Association of Tennessee despite resistance to mediation by the bench and bar. She helped start the Association for Women Attorneys and chaired the Family Law and the ADR sections of the Memphis Bar Association. Devoted to jazz, she founded the Jazz Society of Memphis, feeling music could bring people together.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Jocie in person. Her book perfectly reflects her personality. Growing up in the South, I loved reading about events and history of the time and how Jocie was involved. Beautifully written. Great story. Would love hear more about Jocie’s adventures.

If you care about civil rights for everyone, you’ll love this memoir by Jocie, a brilliant, fascinating, funny, “southern Jewish American princess,” fearless civil rights activist, and pioneer in mediation. Reading Jocie’s book is like sitting down with your favorite story teller, hanging on her every word, and realizing how much courage and chutzpah it took for her to fight discrimination locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally. A typical southern Jewish housewife and mother until the day the Reverend Martin Luther King was killed in Memphis, his death, the plight of the sanitation workers he was trying to help, and the evil of racism and discrimination set her on a lifelong path to help ensure justice, racial equality, women’s rights, gay rights, and human rights. Never preachy, often funny, never self-serving, she clearly delights in sharing what she’s learned and how she learned it. She also briefly shares some of her personal life, including the losses, the discrimination she sometimes faced as a Jewish student when discrimination against Jews was part of the Memphis social scene, and the banjo player who brought love and laughter to her life. I loved this book.

I truly enjoyed this book. It documents important moments in the history of civil rights, and the life of someone who has been at the forefront of social change. The book's humor lightens the sadder moments of the author’s life, and her pioneer spirit and can-do attitude and make the more glorified stories no less compelling. I believe the author meant for this to be a story of how so many people have influenced her, but I read a story of a woman’s life infused with meaning that radiates outward.

"The weakness of U.S. counterintelligence is difficult to exaggerate," says Odom, former director of the National Security Agency, and "patching and repairing here and there" won't solve the problem. Here he presents a far-reaching proposal for revamping the intelligence community, but it's no page-turner. Based on a report originally published in 1997 by a think tank, this book argues that intelligence gathering must be streamlined and cooperation increased among the many existing intelligence agencies. Perhaps Odom's most broad-ranging reform would be to create a national counterintelligence service, which he says would eliminate both competition among the various agencies and the gaps in knowledge that result from such competition. Elsewhere, he proposes broad changes in the makeup of both the FBI and the CIA. These ideas, while presented six years ago by the author, were rarely seriously discussed before September 11, and the author himself admits they are likely to meet resistance from the turf-protecting intelligence community. Odom makes a strong case that they are necessary to fight the changing threats to U.S. security. All too often, though, his language makes his points difficult to follow ("until greater resource management rationality is achieved, progress in integrating the tactical intelligence capabilities will be erratic and more by chance than design"). The book still reads too much like a report to command the wide readership its arguments warrant. William Odom was a longserving Army intelligence officer who finished his uniformed career as Director of the National Security Agency. He has a reputation as a clear-eyed, plain-spoken observer of the intelligence community whether in or out of uniform. His 2003 "Fixing Intelligence" capitalizes on the tidal wave of interest in reform of the US intelligence community triggered by the 9/11 attacks."Fixing Intelligence" is a reworking of a 1997 study produced by one of the many groups tasked with intelligence reform. Odom breaks down the intelligence community and the need for reform for the general reader. His introduction and conclusion alone are worth the price of the book. In between, Odom provides chapters on terminology, the costs of doing business, military intelligence, signals intelligence, human intelligence, and counterintelligence. His discussion is generally a balanced one, although counterintelligence comes in for considerable criticism for its failures against the Soviet Union.Most of Odom's recommendations were subsequently adopted in one form or another through Congressional Law and executive branch directives. In that sense, this book is now slightly out of date. On the other hand, few writers on the intelligence community have offered such a clear, concise, and understandable look at how it works. For that reason, "Fixing Intelligence" is still highly recommended to the general reader interested in the US intelligence community.

It usually takes a disaster to create change in large organizations. And no one could possibly consider the terrorist attacks on 9/11 to be anything but a disaster. But what to change and how to change it. ==In this book, William Odom a former director of the National Security Agency looks at how the American intelligence agencies are organized and makes recommendations on how to fix the problems. The roots of the problem go back a long ways.The CIA was organized in 1947 as primarily an organization to collect information about the Soviet Union. With the advent of spy satellites the main thrust of the agency centered on using imagery to track the military forces of the Soviet Union. And as budgets were cut from time to time (under Clinton especially) the agency depended more and more on imagery.The FBI has responsibilities for both law enforcement and counter intelligence. These are very different responsibilities, one leading to arrest and trial after a crime has been committed. In counter intelligence you don't really care if the bad guy goes to jail, you mainly want to stop his actions from hurting you.Regardless of how it happened, it is time for a major overhaul of the Intelligence agencies of the U.S. General Odom has made a number of proposals clearly stating how he would do it. It will be interesting to watch what happens as Congress works on the problem.

General Odom has written an outstanding book, combining a careful explanation of the nature and mission of intelligence with a well-thought out set of suggested reforms. Although the reading can be somewhat dry, General Odom's description of the relationships between different agencies and bureaucracies is succinct and delivered with clarity. Working methodically through the terminology and methods of the intelligence field, he provides necessary background and understanding to enable people to comprehend the need for reform and to assess the suggestions he offers.General Odom writes from the perspective of an insider, a very smart insider, but manages to keep a degree of detachment and objectivity in the process. His thoughtful suggestions regarding how we might go about reforming and improving our intelligence capabilities to cope with 21st century threats should be read carefully by anyone with an interest in these issues.Even if one disagrees with some of the reforms he proposes, this book provides a solid starting point for understanding the complexities of intelligence collection and analysis in the modern world, as well as the problems we face by relying on an intelligence community created fifty years ago to deal with a threat (the Soviet Union) that is now long-gone from the scene.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Viewing this from the perspective of her target audience, people who want to start a blog to share their passion with others, I like this book. It's short and sweet and leaves room for further development as people progress and want to take their skills further. She also includes links to several of her own blog posts addressing various topics in more detail.Personally, though, I would like to have seen some resources for doing things Sara said the beginner needs to do, like set up Google Analytics and Google Webmaster, as with years of experience blogging. I find, as a non-techie, that they are not intuitively obvious. Even a video on installing WordPress to show how simple the steps really are would be nice. This is surprisingly absent considering how much she uses both Facebook Live videos and YouTube. She did have good advice about reusing the videos on other sites.On a further positive note, Sara brought up some resources I've not known, like Monarch and Easy Social Icons. My compliments too on how well edited this book is.

I really enjoyed this book and the conversational style of writing. The author explains how to start a blog with details about the Wordpress dashboard and recommended plugins. She discusses keyword research for SEO and offering a call-to-action to obtain an email list of subscribers. There are lots of screenshots and illustrations to help the reader absorb the information. I now have a lot more confidence that I can build a blog with this outstanding guide!
