I have been using C# for several years now and have been asked help a 17 year learn to program. I needed a book that I could use as a guide for my one on one with the student. I picked this book because I was so impressed with the other Joes 2 Pros SQL books and this one did not let me down.My student understands the concepts and is able to apply them much easier than a large technical book. There is a great flow to the book and we are able to build on what we have learned quickly. At the rate we are going we will finish this book in no time and I feel good that we can look at some of the more technical books in the future since we have built a solid foundation using this book.This book is highly recogmended for the classroom or individual study.

I come from a background of biology and many a times felt that I could use a software to make various aspects of my work easier. Having had no background in programming I ended up struggling a lot all this while till I decided to learn a bit of programming myself. This book proved to be a great help as it gave me a really good start. All the concepts are explained very nicely with ample examples.I am completely satisfied by this book and am looking forward to more books from this author. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn the basics of C# and give yourself a strong base to build on.

This book gives an excellent introduction to beginners and explains complex concepts quite nicely and simply to beginners. The language is quite accessible and the examples presented have been very helpful in grasping the concepts which they were presented with.

I knew very little programming before. But this book helped me to get be back on track. Strongly recommended for beginners. It contained examples which helped me understand internals of C#.

Excellent practice examples and straightforward explanations of concepts. I learned so much from this one book, and each chapter was very satisfying in how it build on concepts from previous chapters.

I was looking for a book to quickly bring me up to speed on c# and this book helped me catch up and prepare for interviews within 2 weeks.

Written in four chapters, with each chapter being dedicated to a new character and tenant of Summerdale House along with landlord and mysterious and eerie personality Mr. McGreevy. Each new character has some issue they are dealing with and Mr. McGreevy is more than happy to feed their need for whatever flaw, addiction or compulsion each character has. As a matter of fact it seems that Mr. McGreevy feeds on their need to need him in one way or another. I really enjoyed the timing and buildup with each new chapter as we find out more and more about the mysterious, odd and somewhat sociopathic Mr. McGreevy. This is a wonderful beginning of what I’m sure will become a must read series, with book two due October 2019. This is my second read by David Jay Collins and I am so looking forward to following him and his work in the future. After reading the screenplay of Waiting for Godot I did many things. I laughed, I scratched my head, I wondered who this Godot was and I tried to find the elusive plot and meaning of it all. In all, maybe it was Mr. Beckett's primary intention to have all the theater goers go mad! The essence of this two act play revolves around two longtime friends by the names of Vladimir and Estragon who are in search of a character called Godot. The reader or theater goer never really knows who Godot is. Is it the search for God? Could be but who knows. Godot could represent anyone or anything. Beckett gives the impression that Vladimir and Estragon are hobo-like characters who wear bowler's hats and carry on a most nonsensical and repetitious continuing conversation. In fact most of their dialogue is very much like Abbot and Costello's Who's On First. The dialogue goes in circles much like Abbot and Costello. Also another comedy team comes to mind as I read on in what can only be called a farce of a play dominated by absurd allusions. As Vladimir and Estragon continue with their absurd conversations along comes two other characters which add more speculation into what seems to be like the rabbit in Alice In Wonderland added confusion and wonderment in that rather absurd tale. These characters named Pozzo and Lucky add their own comedic scheme to this rather confusing and jumbled tale. When the seemingly intellectually challenged Lucky, who has the IQ of Rocky Balboa, breaks into an outright intellectual diatribe it made me laugh so hard like I remember when I watched old Laurel and Hardy routines as a young boy. The play's meaning and plot is an open book. It can mean anything to anybody. It is full of symbolism and begs for a solid debate. To me it represents life and that life in and of itself at times lacks meaning, shows comedy and can be disappointing and hard to really understand. After seeing this play on February 2, 2014 on Broadway I can compare the play to one TV Series that being "Seinfeld" and the classic movie titled "Groundhog's Day." These are the current comparisons but in the end this play represents a mystery for us to interpret. I'll stick with Groundhog's Day!!! For some reason this play should probably be read and seen multiple times to gain what was in Beckett's mind. I can see why this play is considered a classic. It has all the elements of what the word classic is all about.

"Waiting for Godot" explores Existential philosophy in the form of an absurd, random play. Samuel Beckett uses the easy-to-understand format of two men waiting for their companion Godot to allude to the human condition through Existentialism. The play lacks any true plot (other than the waiting) and there isn't much character development (Vladimir and Estragon wait for Godot despite the fact that he stands them up every day). And while that would seem like a bad thing - all this waiting with zero outcome - isn't that exactly what we spend our whole lives doing? We wait in line, in traffic, for work to end, for a vacation, etc. Stunningly close to our everyday lives, "Waiting for Godot" is a maddening and confusing play that rings true for every reader

First, a word about editions. This edition of WAITING FOR GODOT, though with occasional changes of covers, has long been the standard edition of the play in English. It features Beckett's translation of the play in English, and nothing else. But in more recent copies of the play, Grove has inserted a card noting that in June of 2011 this edition will be replaced by a two one, which will feature the French original alongside Beckett's translation into English. Right now this edition is still available for a fraction of the cost of the new bilingual edition, but at some point soon it will apparently go out of print, and only the new edition of Waiting for Godot - Bilingual: A Bilingual Edition will be available. This new edition will also feature an introduction, which the current edition lacks.Too many people forget that this is a PLAY, i.e., something that provides the words for actors on a stage. It is not primarily intended to be read in a book. Unfortunately, this is how most people experience the play, therefore depriving them of most of elements of the performance. Therefore, I am going to make a recommendation for a way of increasing the richness of your performance of the play.Though an Irishman, Beckett originally wrote the play - as he did with almost all of his works - in French first and then later translated them himself into English (in contrast, Vladimir Nabokov after moving to the United States wrote his books in English, and then translated them into French and Russian, his wife doing the translations into German). The play was originally performed in Paris, while the English-language premiere took place in Ireland. The American debut was not on Broadway, but in Miami, Florida, with Bert Lahr and Tom Ewell.Instead of merely reading the play, read it while listening to a recording of the original Broadway production of Waiting For Godot, which starred Bert Lahr (best known as the Cowardly Lion in THE WIZARD OF OZ) as Estragon and E. G. Marshall as Vladimir. While you still wouldn't get the visual dimension of the play, hearing the actors bring the characters to life adds new layers to the play that you would never get merely by reading it. Lahr was an unexpected choice to star in the play, given that he wasn't an actor so much as a vaudevillian comedian. His acting style was too over-the-top to be convincing in film (though perfect for the Cowardly Lion); I read somewhere - I don't recall where - that he was more like a cartoon character incarnated than a human. He nonetheless gives a marvelous performance here. Marshall was one of the most distinguished stage actors of his generation and more than holds his own with Lahr while acting as more the straight man.If you listen to the recording while reading the book, the performance that will most come to life is that of Lucky. I'd read the play 2 or 3 times over the years and seen it once on the stage in which I now realize was a rather tame production, but had not really paid much attention to Lucky. His main contribution was a single, very long speech (not terribly unlike the long speech given by The Fireman in Ionesco's THE BALD SOPRANO in terms of length and its absurdity - a speech that I gave in a college performance of the play). Read on the page it can seem interesting and silly, but hearing the actor (though it wasn't indicated in the recording, Alvin Epstein played Lucky in the original Broadway production and it is almost certainly him here) perform the speech is revelatory. He doesn't say the words so much as shriek, yelp, gasp, bark, and screech them. Hearing Lucky's speech performed by a talented actor transforms your appreciation of both the speech and the play.This is one of the truly great works of the 20th Century, one of the key plays making up what Martin Esslin dubbed The Theatre of the Absurd, but it is not best experienced by reading it on the page. Try to see it performed instead, or at bare minimum in the Bert Lahr/E. G. Marshall version noted above. You wouldn't think that you had experienced a Bob Dylan song merely by reading the lyrics, and so also you won't experience WAITING FOR GODOT unless you hear or see it performed.

Beckett's "Godot" is probably one of the most amazing and thought-provoking plays out there! Anyone interested in theater simply must read it! I LOVE this book, I always get the latest edition. It has all the info you'll ever need and the hundreds of rhythms WITH THE ANSWERS are fantastic! You have so many to practice on and then check your interpretation. I highly recommend this book, especially for newbies to the Tele floor...practice, practice, practice...and this book is great practice!

I work at a Level 1 Trauma Center, and this is THE book used for the 5 day arrhythmia class for nurses. And I can totally see why they chose it. The descriptions are great, and there are a gazillion rhythm strips to practice with answers in the back of the book. This is one of those things that you lose fast if you don't use is often. So it takes a lot of ongoing practice to really burn it into your head. The huge number of practice strips makes this book a winner. I find myself disagreeing with some of the interval measurements here and there, but you'll find that in any book. And that's kind of okay, because the overall net result is that I'm really becoming good at the fundamentals. Today I was taking the post test in the back of the book and found myself positive that I was looking at a 3rd degree heart block, yet the author said it was Mobitz II. The thing that makes me okay with some of these little squabbles I have with the author is that the clinical implications of my disagreements are pretty insignificant. With the heart block example, I'm quite aware that sometimes Mobitz II and complete heart block can be hard to distinguish in some cases, and it may be left up to Cardiology to sort it out. My job is to realize that I have an underperfused patient with a heart block that requires pacing, and this book has been fundamental in teaching me that. Overall I'm extremely satisfied and will be purchasing another copy just to re-practice the rhythm strips again (which I've written all over with ink!)

This is a workbook for my classes. I have used this author since the 4th edition. She is missing QTIs, but I love the fact each chapter has about 100 practice strips.

Pretty sure I did every single rhythm strip in this book. By the end of cardiology it was taking me less than 10 seconds to ID a strip and I was able to explain it to others. This is probably better for a paramedic and what I imagine is a cardiologist's 101 class

Great book.I a Certified Cardiographic technician and studying to become registered Carfiophysialgy. So I read a lot of Cardiac books. This book is a great resource.A lot of strips and simple/deep explaination that helps you to easly understand and stay in your memory longer. I use this book every day at work.

QB1 is a high school football sports book written by NY sports columnist and author Mike Lupica. The book is well written and most likely aimed at the teenage demographic as its reading level and content fits there. In fact, QB1 was one of a number of school-supported summer reading books from which our twelve year old could choose. Having also read the book (so my son and I could discuss it) and without spoiling anything, I can describe the book as follows: Jake is a freshman in a Texas high school who feels the pressures to succeed as a quarterback. Jake feels added pressure to perform as his father and older brother have all left their mark as successful quarterbacks and as such are revered in their small Texas hometown. The story progresses mainly as Jake navigates his freshman year and deals with the stresses, politics, and teenage insecurities for himself and for the ancillary characters as well as the way life's pressures can affect kids on and off the field. The message is poignant and the storytelling wholesome. The story, however, is very formulaic from a sports point of view but the personalities of the characters and what makes them tick was interesting and speaks well to a middle school or high school kid. Both me and my twelve year old enjoyed the read.

The TODAY SHOW recommended this book. I like and understand football so decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Yes, there is a lot of football. It helps to know the difference between offense, defense, center, tight end and wide receiver. There are many references to Peyton and Eli Manning but there is also a family story behind the football. If you have watched Friday Night Lights, you understand the Texas high school mentality -obsessed. If you are in a family with more than one child, you understand the childhood dilemma of who the favorite child is. a good easy read.

High School Football on Friday nights is America for a large segment of the population, and QB1 possesses all the ingredients that make it a great read. Designed and intended for young male teenage readers this almost 69-year old thoroughly enjoyed the great storyline that included-- sibling rivalry, parental favoritism, budding romance and the developing talent of a young quarterback.Early on while reading this book I found myself beginning to root for this young athlete, sympathize with his setbacks, become encourage by his minor successes, and finally greatly satisfied when everything came together for a rousing finish in the final game of the season.I highly recommend this book to teenagers of all ages!!!!

I am not the target audience here. I'm a 50 year old woman and I still loved this book. Have recommended it to my two twenty-something sons, and bought it for my football crazed nephews for Christmas. Great book to get young boys who'd rather be out throwing the ball around to read. Dad's and football fans will enjoy it too.

Full disclosure: I am a big Mike Lupica fan.That being said, I did enjoy this book. It's a fun and easy read, especially if you are a high school football fan and/or the parent of a teen age athlete. If it was summer, I'd say it's a good beach book. Not taxing on the mind, just good fun.
