This book has clarified the remaining loose ends I had in my putting. I have been bouncing around with styles and putting keys for 45 years and have been an average putter relative to the rest of my game; I have been between a 1 and 5 hcp over the years. The advice per arm stroke and tempo ideas coupled with alignment, i.e. hands below shoulders, eyes over ball, etc. have filled in the blanks once and for all. I was touting another putting guru at a USGA Mid Am qualifying round awhile back and another fellow recommended this book. There was something about his confident enthusiasm that caused me to go ahead and order the book, to take a chance so to speak. I'm glad I was paying attention.----------- "Lights-Out?"........... More like 'Lights-On' in my case. And, the author wrote it in such a simple and easy to understand style. Says so much with an economy of words. This is good writing, good teaching, the final word on putting in my relatively learned opinion.

Needed a more detailed book on stroke mechanics on the green. Especially on how to pick the right putter between the four styles mentioned in this book. The 2nd interest was how to readb the greens.

This book is an easy read written for all types of players. You'll love this book because it has a few different approaches or methods of putting, so you're sure to find something in here that fits your style. Took me from averaging 28 puts a round to 25. Best part is I believe that I am a great putter now. Pick up this book you won't regret it.

Todd Sones' book is right up there with the greatest putting books of all time -- George Low's The Master of Putting, Dave Stockton's Putt to Win, and Arnold Palmer's Complete Book of Putting. Sones is two-time Illinois PGA Teacher of the year and a Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher in America. Like Rik DeGunther in his Art and Science of Putting, Sones tells you what works best and how you can do it. The writing is clear, and the explanation suits the general golfing public. This book is much better than a book like Dave Pelz's Putting Bible, where you get tons of stats about how average putters don't putt so well, and next to nothing actually useful by way of HOW to putt (other than to buy Pelz's gizmos). Sones goes to the heart of the matter every time, teaching the optimal techniques in terms the average golfer can apply daily. That's what teaching is really all about! Great job, Todd! ...

The book only contains very very basic stuff. There is only a very poor analysis of different grips' plusses and minusses and very poor (to no) instruction on how to actually do each kind of grip. The different schools of how to make a putting stroke are weakly compared and explained (for some strange reason author Todd Sones didn't feel any need to explain or discuss the stroke type that is most widely accepted as being the "correct" one namely the pendulum stroke!!!!. There is no real analysis (numerical or "scientific") of how the ball rolls or behaves on the green. Green reading instructions and conscepts are weak weak weak... It seems like he just summarized a few starters articles about putting and threw in a few references to some pros' putting technique. What a waste of money and time! If you wan't to learn how to really improve your putting and learn the proper and correct technique forget this book.If you wan't to learn how to master the mind's game of golf forget about this book too and get "zen golf" (which is very good and intelligent). Peltz might be an alternative if you can stand his manic habit of endlessly repeting himself (which I can't)...

Todd Sones book is one of the best two books on putting in my library (the other is Dave Stockton's Putt to Win). Sones covers setup, pre-putt routine, the stroke (he advocates a simple arm stroke -- in comparison to Dave Pelz's pendulum type stroke and whatever you would call Stan Utley's forearm rotation arcing stroke). I have found this book to be the best of the lot for this mid-handcapper.

We use this book in our teaching in Americas Favorite Golf Schools and would recommend it to high or low handicap

This book is wonderful. It is one optical illusion per page pretty much. In one chapter there are two per page, but they correspond with each other and you use two eyes to see the illusion on those pages. But, don't worry if you only have sight in one eye like I do. I couldn't see the optical illusions on those few pages, so I looked them over and am going to have other people see those and tell me about how it looks with the illusion shows. But there are SO many illusions in this book, don't shy away from it over that. I can see the others fine.There are different types of optical illusions that he breaks into different chapters.This book is relaxing, but also stimulates my curiosity. His words are few, but the few he uses are right on the button. I think this book would be great for anyone. It's great with only one person, but fun with others too.

A good collection, just not the best possible. There are enough ingenious and striking creations to make it worthwhile to purchase. But I felt that the percentage of items that were true "optical illusions" was a bit lower than should be, while there were a lot of items that were said to be about a swirling effect that just did not happen when I looked at them. Still, I'm glad I have the book.

This book for my daughter for her eight-year-old birthday. She had been asking for an optical illusion book. This one wasn’t bad, it was average. I really liked the section that was about the history of optical illusion drawings, paintings, etc... In my opinion this book is geared to an adult audience.

As with all the many books on Optical Illusions that I have in my library,there are usually several illusions that are repeated in each book.That is also the case with this book.Then again,there will also be illusions that are basically the same,except different designs,such as topsy-turvey heads,photos of holding people or things on outstretched hands,hidden images,etc.However I was still glad to see this book and there are a lot of ilusions that are new and interesting. The book is very well made,well constructed,a good binding,and very good paper.printing and excellent color reproduction.All these things are of utmost important when choosing an Optical Illusion book.The book has 320 pages,and has over 300 hundred Illusions.most all are full page.The book is presented in the following sections: Introduction Classic & Historical Illusions Anamorphic& Stereoscopic Illusions Color Contrast and Afterimages Diostortion Illusions Ambigious figures Impossible Objects Motion Illusions SolutionsAndIImage Credits. There is little in the way of explanations of eye and mind co-ordinationor about what and why these illusions happen.The section on Solutions is very brief and covers only a few illusions.Also,there is very sketchy, to almost no explanation about the history or the inventor or originator of the particular illusions.. The biggest advance in the "world of Optical Illusions" today is the Internet.There is an awful lot of basic as well as scientific and artistic information to be found Also there is a plethora of Images to view;many incorporating movement.One of my favorites is a sillouette of a ballet dancer that twirls around one way,then twirls the opposite way.There is no way this illusion could be presenterd in a book. There is also no Bibliography nor list of books for future reading. I'm new to tatting and have never worked with beads. I expected this book to have some sort of graphics with how-tos... this is not the case. It has some beautiful patterns of jewelry - earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and pendants, but not one section on how to do it. Like the other reviewer (at this time there is only one) said - this is not a how-to book - it is a pattern book. I also did not like that the choice of threads was limited to her promo - would like to see other thread options and see the jewelry done in other threads (not just the metallics). All that said - I'm glad I bought it - the pieces are beautiful and I can't wait to make some of them!

This book is for shuttle tatting but I can use it for needle tatting. I am new to tatting. I learned needle tatting on Youtube. I am ready to do more, but I don't have the knowledge. I ordered this book and it is fantastic. directions are clear so I can follow

Beautiful pictures and directions of how to tat jewelry, written by Lyn Morton . Her patterns are complete and if you have tatted before easy to put together. This book is so inspiring you just want to grab it and begin right away. Tatting is a wonderful hobby. It catches the attention of everyone watching including gentlemen who remember the hypnotic movements made by their mothers and grandmothers during quiet time. If you are shy, waiting in a public place the graceful movements draw the attention of others as they wonder what you are doing and the gracefulness draws you to the hobby. Supplies are easy to carry along as you travel, in the doctors office and also when you are watching sports etc. I really recommend this. It fills spare time, gives you a sense of accomplishment. When finished you are left with gifts for yourself and others and you acquire lots of friends After tatting for 50 plus years I have no arthritis in my hands!

I enjoy tatting and I really wanted to like this book. The patterns are not difficult, simple tatting dominated by beads and more beads. There's not much here to interest an experienced tatter, just more of what you see on the cover. If I'd known that was the extent of it, I would not have purchased the book. I almost gave it two stars but that seemed harsh since someone else may think the designs are wonderful. They remind me of my grandmother's costume jewelry. I found more interesting and attractive tatted jewelry patterns online for free.

Great instructions and pretty pics but I wish it had more variety. I feel like the patterns are too similar. They are easy to follow, even for a beginner like me, especially if I use a needle to tatt, which is so much easier than a shuttle.

The book is presented using full-page closeups of the jewelry, sometimes using several pages just to show the jewelry. Whlie this is pretty, the print describing how to make the jewelry is tiny and hard to read. The shapes of the jewelry are not interesting enough to merit the many pages of large photos. All the beads in a piece seem to be the same size, which takes away from the interest of the shape. I think one could learn more from "Tatted Jewelry" by Marilee Rockley.

The designs are stunning. I can't wait to get started on some of these projects. This is one of the first tatting books I have purchased where I might make every design in it. The directions are clear and the pictures are amazing. I can't wait to get started.

Great designs. Had to re-read directions multiple times on patterns towards the end of the book. Not always clear. You must know how to tat and read patterns prior to getting this book.

I read this book as a requirement for our school's 4th/5th grade reading bowl. It was a very interesting book.

A great story many recent immigrants who are raising their kids can relate to. Provides several opportunities to teach multiple perspectives and ways to teach young children how and why steroetyping is often wrong.

I found myself relating to both Margie and Lupe. The characters were well written and believable. I came from a different country as a young child and I still remember feeling as overwhelmed as Lupe.

I am a speech pathologist and I find this book very helpful with children who have central auditory processing deficits, ASD, ADHD and language delays. I especially like how items are organized which makes it easy to select the specific material I might need for a lesson. The only drawback is that it does not come in a spiral bound version.

There are some bad reviews of this map but I have always trusted Guia Roji and I received map today. I know Puerto Vallarta. This map is excellent. You do not need to know Spanish at all to use it.

This map shows only the main roads and not the side streets, and is really not worth the effort of ordering. I stayed in a small villa in Las Playas (old Acapulco)next to John Wayne's old house do you think I could find the steet on the map. Don't answer!
