My son loves this book. We actually saw it at Hollywood Studios at Disney World this year when we went but I was able to find it here on Amazon at less than half the cost of the Disney gift shop it was in (near the newer Star Wars meet and greet area). I'm glad I waited and got him this one. The information inside is pretty detailed and a little violent (creatures eating/slicing open other creatures) in some of the hand drawn photos but isn't too bad since its just a drawing. My son loves to read about the creatures and then try to draw them himself.

 This hardcover is actually texture-pressed with scale patterns from a creature I can't identify. It has a nice touch.This is a field guide to the wildlife from the Star Wars planets. It's organised by planets and the included ones are Tatooine, Hoth, Dagobah, Naboo, Bespin, Endor, Yavin 4 and Coruscant. There's a short introduction describing each ecosystem -- fiery, freezing, vaporous, etc.The illustrations are sketches drawn with pencils and colour markers, supposedly by a zoologist in the field, but is actually none other than Terryl Whitlatch. They are all wonderfully detailed showing the creatures in their natural habitat, be it hunting, caring for their young, chilling out, or even on sale at some market on Coruscant. The attention to skin textures is very nice. You can almost get a feel just by looking. Beautiful colours also.Besides the paintings are field notes filling in on information like feeding patterns, mating habits, herding instincts and defensive mechanisms of these fascinating beings.I didn't know that the giant space slug is really that huge at 900 metres until I looked up the size of a blue whale for comparison, which is 33 metres. The space slugs gets nutrients from asteroids and you can see how the intestines work. Some of the designs you'll see are inspired by Earth animals. The Opee Sea Killer has characteristics from lobster (shell), frog (long sticky tongue), anglerfish (that glowing forehead tip) and the arowana (breeding little babies in the mouth).Some of the designs might look a bit far fetch but hey, this is Star Wars, this is science fiction. I guess anything goes but many are believable for the most part, in art and concept.This is a very good book for all fans of Star Wars and animal art.(More pictures are available on my blog. I got this as a gift for a 7-year old girl who is a blossoming Star Wars fan who is interested in science--as far as 7-yr olds go.She LOVED this book. "What's that? Daddy what movie is that monster from. Ooooh that's neat. I remember that one."The artwork is mature enough for me (a mid-30s Dungeons and Dragons, Fantasy fan) to enjoy and straightforward enough for this young girl to enjoy.

My Son cannot put this book down and that is coming from a kid who generally doesn't like animals. I think pictures and diagrams read more like schematics to a robotic lab than a field guide which explains why he likes it. There is very technical and creative language which for the interested youth reader will help expand their vocabulary. I highly recommend the hard cover since the book gets used so much and spends much of its life in his backpack. Btw he is 11 years old.

There isn't much bad I can say about this book. It's great to see the wonderful illustrations of some of the most talked about (and never seen) creatures of Star Wars.The artwork is top notch all around with loads of new beasties from the places you know in the Star Wars universe. The book is rather large for a "field guide". I know I wouldn't be throwing this in my backpack, but the (what I'm assuming to be) dewback hide cover of the book is great. And the comparative size chart on the inside covers is great. Yep, that's a Space Slug taking up all four inside covers...Overall, if you have any interest in the creatures of SW, this book will not disappoint. Looking at it, you can tell why it's retailing for $.... It is, just simply, an outstanding book.

Got this book for my 12yr old son for Christmas and he loves the book. The drawings in the book are more artistic and stylized like a field journal would be, they are not super detailed. That said he's discovered all kinds of new beasts and creatures across the galaxy.

This is a beautiful coffee table book with lovely illustrations and is true to Star Wars.

My son loved this book because he has recently adapted an interest in the Star Wars area. This book goes through every known Star Wars creature and on top of this, it gives a detailed description of various facts about each and every creature. Aside from all of the detail and descripions, my son loved that illustrations. This book catches the mind and the eye of children!

This is awesome! It shows you how to make your own syrups, infused alcohols, and has some really tasty recipes in there. I like the unique blends of fruits and vegetables. Alcoholic shakes pretty much!

The wiring diagrams along with a Power Probe III ( Power Probe III in a Clamshell (Red)) made it possible for me to pinpoint some nasty corrosion issues on a 10 year old GY6 scooter. My usual scooter mechanic will never make any money on (trying to) fix my scooter again. I recovered price of the manual and the Power Probe by doing a series of jobs on the scooter myself and passing the Motor Test...

EDIT: Changed to 5 stars - I emailed Haynes and they replaced the book with a perfect copy.The manual is great. I bought a few different books, and this is by far the most comprehensive and helpful. It covers a style of bike from several different manufacturers, so not every example is going to match your bike perfectly. However, the instructions should translate over easily. I'd buy it again if I lost it for sure.I do think some color photos - or access to color photos online for those who have bought the book - would be a helpful addition. And though there are lots of specs given for several bikes, there isn't much in the way of specs for the typical cheap Chinese 150cc GY6. The information is more or less there, but something more to the point for a Roketta or another common 150cc would be great.My only real gripe may not apply to anyone else. For some reason I'm missing pages in my copy. The missing pages are replaced by a reprint of previous pages. I wish I could have those pages sent to me somehow! I won't return the book because I had written all over it before I noticed the problem.Overall, great manual to have around if you own a Chinese scoot.

This manual is the best 32$ ive spent in years.If your having problems with your scooter this is what you buy.The pictures and details are perfect Step by Step instructions on motor rebuilding trouble shooting you name it.I would highly reccomend this haynes manual to friends.

I usually love Haynes, but they tried to cram too much into this book and sacrificed a lot of important details - no torque settings for example. Instead they should have done the book by cc, I think then they could have gone more specific. Like have a whole book just for 49/50cc for example. There really isn't anything useful in this book and instead I went to utube for all the info I needed.

Excellent book. All recipes are for two servings. You can divide and make just one as I do. All nutritional info is listed, not just calories, carbs, and proteins, but fats, fiber, carbs, sugars, sodium, calcium, iron, potassium, vitamin C, vitaA, etc...you get the picture. Speaking of pictures, there are many color photographs of the finished smoothie. Recipes are simple and straightforward. I was a bit hard to get on board with green smoothies, but the Mega Green in here is excellent. The recipes in book use a lot of various fruits, some fresh, some frozen, also greens, mostly spinach or baby kale, cukes, and so on. Although some recipes use yogurt or almond milk, or peanut butter, many use coconut milk beverage (which I like) or just juice or water, lacking protein. So my only criticism is that many recipes are are a bit too low in protein (1-3grams); so I add a TBS. of whey protein to most of my smoothies per serving if a dairy item is missing from recipe. Flaxseed powder, chia seeds, hemp seeds, etc., works well too. These are lacking in the recipes, but easy enough to add on my own.

These smoothies take too many things the average person doesn't have on hand. Not worth the trouble and expense.

Good Book! My favorite is the blueberry/banana/peanut butter smoothie! I just this book for reference and to try new things. Well written and good recipes!

This book was a lifesaver for me. I use a pedagogy called team-based learning in which students are assigned permanent teams at the beginning of the semester and do most of their learning through team activities. I do little lecturing; most classroom time is activity-based. That being said, developing interesting, creative, and thought-provoking activities is not my strength. "Activities for teaching positive psychology" was released a few weeks before my spring 2103 Positive Psychology course, and I used at least one activity from the book each week. A weekly three hour session is a lot of time to fill with activities; yet students said that time flew by because they were always doing something interesting (I should note that there were 48 students in the class). By the end of the course I had tried 13 of the 25 activities in the book. Some of them needed to be modified for use as team activities; I used others as written. Some of them worked extremely well, others didn’t, but even those that didn’t work as planned still generated worthwhile discussions. For example, the “Heart rate variation with positive psychology exercises” activity didn’t generate a change in average heart rate as a result of the different stimuli I presented, which was disappointing. But the class had a great discussion about why the activity might not have worked, providing them the opportunity to make connections to what they knew about research methodology. Most activities were quite successful. Students completed “The savoring expedition: An exercise to cultivate savoring” and wrote about their experience in a journal entry. I was impressed by the seriousness with which they approached this activity and how much they learned through doing it. “Internalized motivation in the classroom” was a wake-up call for some students who were faced for the first time, it seemed, with the question of why they were in college. For the “Curiosity as a social lubricant: Transforming conversations” activity, students wrote on an index card a question that they would crave to know how somebody else would answer. They eventually paired up and asked each other their questions. The conversations that resulted were lively and loud! I keep the cards on my desk to jot quick notes on the blank side, and when I turn them over I discover questions like: “Do you find yourself searching for meaning in most situations you’re in?” “Do you believe in aliens?” and “When you think about space, does it make you feel small or insignificant?” I can tell a story like the ones above about each of the activities I used. As I said earlier, this book was a lifesaver for me; the activities enriched the class enormously. My thanks go to Jeffrey Froh and Acacia Parks for putting together this collection, and I am very grateful to the faculty who agreed to share their activities with us.

There is such a variety that it it easy to modify them for specific classroom needs. Great cooperative learning activities that are good on their own or to supplement more in-depth readings or explorations on the topics. I highly recommend this book.

A few years later, he transferred to Oracle Australia to set up and run Oracle Education and then worked as a Principal Oracle Consultant for them. Leaving Oracle, he created and managed firstly an IT Consultancy in Sydney, and then three years later, a sister Consultancy in London. Dave has delivered consultancy across the globe and started various commercial Web ventures. He has also created two centres of Oracle excellence for clients in the UK and Eire. To fulfil a lifelong ambition, in early 2003, he converted a derelict pub in London into a café and managed this, before selling it at the end of the year. Over the years, both for Oracle, its education partners and through dozens of workshops organised through his own Consultancies, he has delivered education covering Business Analysis, Data Modelling and Relational System Design to thousands of students. He has authored two series of books on Data Architecture Fundamentals and Oracle Development Fundamentals. He currently works as a Consultant Enterprise Data Architect and lectures for Verhoef Training in the UK.

Only just came across this book! I have to confess I have been a data modeler previously, but never had a formal training in it. This book has helped me to get to grips with how to do it properly. It has given an insight into the smart ways to think and also a lot of detail around the processes that make it a lot easier. The templates are also very good and the Quality Assurance template is just awesome! I will definitely be using this.

There's something in here for all levels of skill and experience. The Author does a great job presenting key points and covers a large subject area in a concise manner.
