I love The Who Was series, and have been waiting for the Stan Lee cover on Amazon to change from Who Is, to Who Was. I thought this would mean the book had been updated and include his death date in the timeline. Buyer beware if you’re like me. I received Who Is Stan Lee even though the title says otherwise. No mention of his passing. For a history nerd, this just really disappointed me. Great book. I just wanted it updated.

I bought this book for my son to do a biography for a 4th grade assignment. The book is a great introduction into Stan Lee's life. The words and themes are age appropriate and easy to navigate. As I read along with him, I became a Stan Lee fan also. The overall messages we took from this book is that perseverance pays off and that doing what you love makes work fun!

My 8 yr old grandson is obsessed with Stan Lee . . . from his comic books to his cameos in all his movies. He really enjoyed all the info about his growing up, how he got to where he was, and his life as a comic writer. I think it's a great book for all ages!

My 7 year old son loves these books, as well as comics, so when he was assigned to write a book report on a biography, he was thrilled to find this book on Stan Lee. He was able to read it easily and was very entertained while doing so. I love that they make these books fun for kids to read and include illustrations. He did great on his book report!

My third graders really enjoy the Who Was series. Many of students love comics, but few had any idea who Stan Lee was. They learned a lot from reading this book and there was always a waiting list for this particular title.

I bought this as a gift for my niece who loves Who Is books. She seemed to enjoy it, and when asking her general questions about Stan Lee she seemed to know the answers.

My two girls and I had a blast reading this one of the series and I had no idea how much I didn't know about Stan Lee.

1 1/2 stars is probably closer to it.This book is a mess. For starters there is approximately one reported erratum for every four pages of book. Some of these are egregious. Note: many technical books offer copious thanks to those who edited the manuscript. This book lacked those acknowledgements. I'm not surprised.The book often references material it does not cover until a later chapter. It makes style and coding practices recommendations. From a higher quality book, these might be welcome. But for a book of relatively low quality, they are questionable. Further, the purpose of a book of this nature should be to help one pass the test. Style recommendations don't play a role here.I barely passed the exam, but credit that success more to supplemental material and past C++ experience than to any value derived from this text.If I had it to do over again, I would have skipped reading this book and read the first 300 pages of the 1000 page O'Reilly C# Nutshell book by the Albaharis. It has much more bang for the buck, is technically correct, and covers more ground in fewer pages.

This has got to be the worst book I have ever bought. I printed out the errata from Wrox's website, it was 17 pages worth. It was just littered typos and errors that it was obvious that the proof readers/editor did not do their job. The book was suppose to help readers but instead it was so heavy with error, it was just frustrating. I spent hours to go through the 17 pages of errata, it was infuriating.Making the value of the book useless and a bad reflection on the proof reader/editor, what were they doing, sleeping on the job? If I can give the book zero start I would. Just useless.

This book is stuffed with blatant errors to the extent I've never quite seen anywhere before. I was aware of the problem - sort of - based on other reviews, but in the end have bought the book based on the very thorough review by pragmateek (available here, and the full version on pragmateek.com). This review lists tons of errors, but I was swarmed with them before I even encountered the first one mentioned by pragmateek, guess he just skipped the first chapters.Having precious little time to prepare for the exam, you'll end up wasting it trying to figure out which word got duplicated when authors copypasted from MSDN, why they make no distinction between "binary" and "bitwise", and what the hell is the "else if" statement they are talking about. Stay away.

I am on chapter 2 and like the other reviews say there are MANY grammatical mistakes and for the quiz at the end of Chapter 2 (Quesiton 1) the wrong answer is given. While some of the typos and grammatically issues are hard to look past the material (so far) does seem to be explained in more detail than the Microsoft Press Exam Prep 70-483 - Programming in C#. I submitted an errata ticket to see what the publisher has to say about the Chapter 2, Question 1 - wrong answer.Here is a link to ALL of the mistakes that have been reported so far in the text.http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTitle/MCSD-Certification-Toolkit-Exam-70-483-Programming-in-C-.productCd-1118612094,descCd-ERRATA.htmlVery frustrating. I think it is a good idea to purchase this book if you are preparing for the Exam 70-483.This book definitely covers the topics listed in the Exam objective. It is not one of the bestbooks on learning C# but it is useful in preparing for the exam. Chapter 6 was not goodin my opinion. The most important chapters that references Delegates, Events, Asynchronous Processing, Lambdaexpression could use a little more work.

Athough the book can be used as _part_ of your exam preparation, do not depend on it alone. The book does not really cover enough material. As other reviewers mentioned, it is full of typographical errors. I even found errors in the book not found on the addendum website two years after it was published. I guess WROX just gave up on that.One reviewer said the material was clear. I agree with him that some of it is clear, but at some points the "Best Practices" blocks interrupt the text flow so much that it really can not be called clear.Was it worth the money? Not for me. I recommend you buy the other book on the test. It can't be any worse.

I just bought this book. And check errors by errata, version of my book doesn't have any errors, all errors are fixed.This book is great, I love it!.

I play on my high school basketball team and have always wanted to dunk. I thought for the price it couldn't hurt to buy his book. Well I'm really glad I got it. I did the whole program and I am finally dunking. It is truly a miracle! The book basically shows you how to strengthen the muscles in your legs which allows you to jump higher. Stronger muscles in legs = more jumping power. Makes sense to me

I got this book to help me with volleyball. I play in a club league at college. I’ve noticed a huge increase in my jump since I started the exercises in this book. Definitely recommend!!

My brother and I play basketball and we were trying to find a way to jump higher. Found this book, have been doing the exercises for 4 weeks and I’m already jumping way higher only 1/3 done with program. Definitely recommend to anyone playing sports!

Basic and good for any age or sport. 11 year old out jumping all teammates and became top rebounder in his league.

I checked out the author (Brandon Webb) with a Navy Seal buddy and picked up the book after getting a solid reference from him. The book provides a common-sense sequence for over-coming debilitating fear and does it in an entertaining manner with examples from all walks of life - not just his Seal experience. You probably will not agree with everything Webb says and may even want to re-arrange the sequence that he proposes, but its still an excellent read.

Awesome advice from a warrior! This book is so compelling, I bought three copies for two of my kids and a friend. Being an Army retiree, I can certainly relate to some of Brandon's experiences. Thanks for capturing lessons valuable in so many situations!

Really enjoyed reading this book. The author shares very inspirational stories, with a valuable lesson behind each. I found myself very motivated after finishing this book.
